What technology does MCM use to service their landlords and tenants?
Melanie's Interview Answer:
So one of the big things that I looked at when I started MCM properties is different technologies that were available and how they could be used to provide a really good convenient service to my landlords and tenants. So some of the things that we've implemented for the tenant side we have an online application system so long gone the old paper forms that they've got to try and drop in and get photocopiers so with the online application system they log in, they create their own user name and password so its secure for them , they upload all of their information, if they haven't got a scanner they can take a photograph with their IPhone or smart phone and upload that image to their identification so it’s really convenient, they can log back in if they need to provide more information so we find for our perspective tenants it’s the easiest system for them to use, you don't really need a lot of IT experience. Also for out tenants we have an online paying in system for their rent so a little but like a direct debit style of thing but they have the option to pay either with a bank account or with a debit card or a credit card so we try to make payments for rent as convenient as possible.
On our landlord side some of the things were really proud of is our landlord portal. so this is a secure website that our landlords get their own unique log in and password, we upload to that portal on a daily basis and that’s things like copies of their lease, all of their statements, invoices, condition reports, any important notes, letters, correspondence, anything like that that we think the landlords would need to have access to or would like to have access to gets uploaded and this means they don’t have to hunt around for emails or have to keep paper records, it’s all available for them 24/7, they can log in, download. They can also message me through this system as well so again we limit the back and forth with emails, they can have it through this system, it messages me and then I can reply to it so these are the kind of technologies we've brought in.
We also use Ipads for all of our inspections so that enables us to do video inspections as well as take lots and lots of photographs for them and that we find gives a very nice clean informative report which is available almost straight away so the reports begin done as we do the ??? So it’s very convenient and quick for our landlords and tenants to get a copy of that report.
