Swimming Pool Compliance Certificates Postponed Until 2015

Landscaped swimming pool area with compliant black pool fencing.Although new swimming pool laws came into effect last month (29th April), property owners have been given more time to obtain a compliance certificate when leasing or selling their property. Investors and sellers now have an additional 12 months to have their swimming pool inspected by council or a certified inspector and be able to provide their tenant or purchaser with a valid compliance certificate. From 29th April, 2015 this certificate must be attached to the tenancy agreement or contract for sale in order for it to proceed. Once obtained the compliance certificate remains valid for 3 years. For owners of strata property, your strata manager will typically be appointed by the body corporate to obtain the compliance certificate. They will then provide it to individual unit owners if and when required.  For MCM owners, you don't need to worry because we will take care of everything for you, including arranging for the inspection and managing the compliance certificate.
